Join Us in Making a Difference
As a charity, the King's Lynn Night Shelter receives no national or local government funding and is dependent on the generosity of our local community and friends. If you would like to donate, please find more information on our CAF Giving page.
Item donations
Almost all of the food we serve to our guests and give out at the door is donated. This is yet another way in which we are dependent on the generosity of our community.
If you would like to keep up to date with which food items we are in need of, we regularly post requests on our Facebook page. Otherwise, some items that we regularly run out of are: Fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, milk, cheese, spreadable butter, sugar, biscuits, instant noodles, fruit squash, tinned tuna, crisps, and condiments. Please note that, for food hygiene reasons, we can only accept donations of fresh meat, fish, and frozen products from registered food businesses, and are unable to accept any home baking or left over food (eg. from wedding or funeral buffets).
We also welcome donations of warm blankets (no duvet covers, please, as they are too bulky to wash and store), sleeping bags, tents, new socks and underwear, toiletries, and cleaning products!
Become a friend of the night shelter
The Friends of the Night Shelter are our regular monthly benefactors. They give a sum each month - of any amount - and in return they receive two newsletters each year, information about any special upcoming
events, and an invitation to the annual thank you party with our volunteers. We encourage anyone who would like to be a part of the Night Shelter's future to sign up as a Friend - simply follow the link above to visit our CAF Giving page, and click 'I'd like to give regularly'.
